Jiangsu Peace Carbon Environmental Technology Co.,Ltd

In order to offer support and contribute to the energy saving and emission reduction work in Jiangsu, through providing consultation services for developing CCER projects, evaluating GHG inventory and introducing low-carbon finance, Peace Carbon established Jiangsu Peace Carbon Environmental Technology Co., Ltd (Jiangsu Peace Carbon) in June 2014 with capital of 10 million RMB.

Since its inception, Jiangsu Peace Carbon has actively and successfully cooperated with Jiangsu provincial and local NDRC on building local capacity of establishing carbon trading, GHG inventory and GHG emission reporting system. Based in Jiangsu and radiated to East China, Jiangsu Peace Carbon arms to become east operational headquarters of Peace Carbon in China.  

1. Project development and trading

Peace Carbon and its core team members have already participated in developing CDM (issued 87% of Jiangsu’s issued CERs ) and CCER projects in Jiangsu (until 3rd Jan, 2015, publicized 49% of Jiangsu’s CCER projects on China Certified Emission Reduction Exchange Info-Platform ) .The main projects are as following:

(1).CDM

• Project for GHG Emission Reduction by Thermal Oxidation of HFC23 in Jiangsu Meilan Chemical CO. Ltd., Jiangsu  Province, China 

•  Project for HFC23 Decomposition at Changshu 3F Zhonghao New Chemical Materials Co. Ltd, Changshu, Jiangsu  Province, China 

• Changshu Haike HFC 23 Decomposition Project 

• Nanjing Jinling Grid Connected Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant Project

•  Zhangjiagang Nature Gas Power Generation Project

• Jiangsu Dongtai 201MW Wind Power Project

(2).CCER

Peace Carbon has signed 4 large natural gas power generation CCER projects (Wangting, Qisuyan, Wujiang, Yizheng) with Jiangsu Branch of Huadian Group. Each project is predicated to reduce GHG emissions of 850,000 tCO2e per year and thus totally about 4,000,000 tCO2e per year，and about 28,000,000 tCO2e GHG emission reduction in the first crediting period, which creates a record for both single and total emission reductions in the CCER history. 

2. GHG Inventory 

From 2013, Peace Carbon has completed GHG inventory for Huaihe Chemical Industry, Wangting Power Plant and Jinling Runyang Bridge Hotel. Among them, the Jingling Runyang Bridge Hotel project has been selected as a model in Carbon Disclosure of Chinese Enterprises,2013.

3. Capacity Building of GHG Report 

At present, under the guidance of Jingsu DRC, Peace Carbon has provided Carbon Asset Development and Management training in capacity building workshop of GHG reporting work for Jiangsu DRC system, Power Industry, Chemical industry, iron industryand cement industry, and also participated  in compiling training materials for the workshop. The workshop attendants included the in-charge persons of relative local DRC and directors of “cap” enterprises.

From November 1 to 5, 2014, Peace Carbon hosted the workshop of Suzhou Energy Management under guidance of Jiangsu DRC and GIZ, through introducing advanced theory of energy management to accelerate transaction of international advanced experiences and technologies into China, promote capacity building of energy-saving and emission-reduction program,  and help government and enterprises  improve capacity of energy management. The workshop attendants are section chiefs of Jiangsu DRC, senior  energy/ security/ environment managers of high energy-consumption enterprises (such as power, chemistry, iron & steel, ceramic and papermaking companies, etc), consultants for energy management, energy assessment, emission reduction and so on. Totally, near 100 people attended the workshop.
